I also have my BA in Spanish and Education and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Portland. During my time as a teacher and also a researcher while completing my doctorate, I aided in the implementation of a new dual language program to better meet the needs of all students.

During this time, I taught in a variety of different grade levels and classroom settings. I was highly involved as a teacher leader and instructional coach in the areas of literacy instruction, curriculum development and differentiation, and best practices for educating linguistically diverse learners. During my time as a teacher I developed an incredible passion for advocating for equity for all learners and implementing differentiation strategies in order to create an inclusive learning environment.
