During the meeting, we discussed the café location that has already been secured. The only requirements are to complete and sign a release form for permission to use the space, as well as a risk assessment form before the filming day. We also talked about the house we plan to use, which is located outside Salford. We discussed how to transport the crew, cast, and equipment there within the constraints of our budget.

My goal is to secure a suitable location at no cost to help reduce the production's expenses. Additionally, we agreed on filming at Peel Park.

After the meeting, I took the next steps in securing the house location and gathered pictures to assess whether it would be suitable for filming.

Today, I finalized the locations that I believe would be suitable for our filming, taking into account factors such as location, transportation, and budget. Since my boyfriend works in property management, I was able to secure a property for us to use for filming at no cost, which helped us stay within our budget. I visited several properties for viewings, but the one that was just a short 10-minute walk from the school only offered the living area for use. Therefore, we decided to use my boyfriend's apartment, where we have access to the entire space, including the bedroom, living room, and dining area, for the three days we will need it for filming. After discussing transportation, we agreed that this location would be the most convenient and suitable for our project.

I have completed all the necessary risk assessments for filming and sent them to the academy tutor for approval. Additionally, I gathered and reviewed all the location forms filled out by the other crew members, ensuring they were accurate and sent for approval. I also coordinated with the costume department to verify that all the required props for the set were documented and submitted for approval by the director and producer. I printed all the location release forms, making sure they were signed and then sent them to the director and producer. Furthermore, I arranged the filming dates for each location.

Today marks day four of filming in the first week. In addition to ensuring that all risk assessments were completed, I worked alongside the costume and prop departments to ensure that everything needed for the location was available. I also helped set up the location by placing posters on the walls, moving items, arranging the wall drops, and returning everything to its original place after filming. I made sure that the house was left in the same condition as we found it, ensuring no damage or dirt was left behind.

Since we were only granted access to the house for one day, we had to complete all the room scenes within that time frame. I arrived at the location earlier than the rest of the crew to collect the key to the house, allowing us to get access as soon as the crew members arrived. Additionally, I made sure we were still authorized to shoot in the house by confirming permission with the homeowner.

We faced some challenges with the limited space available in the house. For example, we only had access to a small area of the wall drop, meaning we couldn’t exceed this space during filming as it contained personal belongings of the homeowner that couldn’t be moved.

We began setting up for filming at 10 a.m. and finished both filming and packing up by 9 p.m. Afterward, I stayed behind to return the key and ensure that the homeowner was satisfied with the condition of the house when we left.

this is day 7 of our filming, and I’ve been working closely with the entire crew to ensure that the process runs smoothly and without unnecessary stress. In addition to assisting with the packing and sorting of equipment, I’ve also taken on the role of clapperboard operator. My responsibilities have included managing waste disposal and providing essential items on set, such as tissues, hot water, and any other materials needed for props, costumes, or makeup.

Today marks day 8 of our filming. I arrived at the property by 9 a.m. to collect the keys and gain access to the house before the rest of the crew arrived at 9:30 a.m. I assisted in setting up the location with the costume and props department, ensuring that the living room setup matched the original arrangement from the first scene, as this is a continuation of that scene. It was essential that everything looked exactly the same as it did during the previous shoot.

Additionally, I made sure all waste was properly disposed of and helped ensure that every crew member was comfortable by adjusting the temperature in the house and offering tea to those who were cold or needed a drink. The filming went smoothly, but I stayed behind afterward to return the property keys to the house owner.

Today, we filmed a night scene at Peel Park. I arrived at the location by 3 p.m., as stated in the call sheet, but we didn’t begin filming until 5:30 p.m. During the shoot, we faced several challenges, including people walking into the scene, which required us to pause and reshoot once they had passed.

We did our best to minimize noise, but some issues were beyond our control. For example, at the start of filming, there were children playing in the park. Although the playground was far from our filming location, the noise still carried over. Given the uncertainty about how long they would be there, we decided to proceed with filming due to time constraints and potential weather changes.

I assisted with the clapperboard, helped move equipment from one location to another, and assisted the actor by carrying her bags to the filming area. The weather was windy, and towards the end of filming, it began to rain. Fortunately, we were wrapping up our final shot when the rain started. We finished earlier than expected, completing everything by 7:30 p.m., ahead of the scheduled time on the call sheet.

Day 10 last day of filming

Today marks the final day of our filming, which is taking place at Peel Park. The filming process has been going smoothly, although it has been drizzling throughout the day. Filming in the rain can be quite challenging, as it's crucial to protect the equipment, which limits the movement of both actors and camera operators.

In addition to managing the clapperboard, I assisted with lighting by holding the lighting equipment alongside the light operator to ensure better illumination for our film. I also helped by holding an umbrella over the camera and the camera operator to shield the equipment from the rain. This also helped protect the actors' makeup from being damaged by the wet conditions

Today, we encountered some challenges during filming. One of the actors was uncomfortable with lying on the floor for a scene, although it was necessary for certain shots. During the take, the actor became upset and emotional, and we had to halt filming. It seemed that most people were more focused on completing the film than on the actor's well-being, even though the actor had expressed from the start that she didn't want to be the lead role. The director and producer were aware of this, as it meant she would be required on set every day without any time off. She was feeling overwhelmed, believing she was letting everyone down, but we reassured her that her safety and mental health were our top priorities.

To wrap up the day, we went back out to capture a few additional shots to improve an unfinished scene, bringing the filming of our short film Love Bite to a close.
