         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used to think that scope and sequences were something only used for what was being taught in a term or that it was just what assessments you would be doing but now I know that they can actually be a transition of knowledge throughout the years of schooling. Also just to add on, I felt it was useful to be provided with the Primary Connections Scope and Sequence to have a better understanding of what is included.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I found it interesting that students learn about 'push' and 'pull' in year 1. In year 12&nbsp;<br>(last year), we did a physics workshop for year 2 students that came to our school with a focus around push and pull motions, so whether this was because covid might have affected this or something else entirely? It was just very interesting. Alongside this, I also found it interesting how students start looking at circuits in year 6 because I personally find those difficult, and so it was definitely a "wait, what??" moment. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used to think that a lot of the physical sciences (and other sciences also) were mainly covered in detail in high school in later years. In my own primary science experience, a lot of the learning if you wanted to know more, was done in your own time and on your own terms. Its nice to see and know that physical sciences (and the other sciences also) are covered in a larger amount of detail. Also fantastic to see that there is a large variability in delivery in content, for example technology, written, visual and kinetic. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I used to think STEM was a program placed in school to allow for more knowledge on different scientific topics. I also thought in was to engage students more in science so that they could picture science as a career. I now know that STEM is about preparing students to the future and presenting them with skills to become life long learners and participate in scientific decision making. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When I thought about STEM I thought primarily of the facts of science, be it physical, chemical, earth, or biological. I now know that STEM is far more interested in developing science skills and ways of thinking that can make students better learners in and out of school. Through encouraging inquiry and engagement by interaction, learners become curious about their world in a meaningful way that extends beyond fact retention. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Reflecting back on my Primary School years, I used to think my teachers would have us experiment with magnets, water, electricity etc for fun and without much structure. I now know there was a method and reasoning for their teaching that served a learning purpose. I now also know there is a more conscious and conservative effort to include Indigenous teachings across the curriculum, specifically through the science strands. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I now have a better understanding of how Indigenous teaching are already embedded in the nature of the science curriculum. Naturally indigenous teachings focus on the country as the teacher, emphasizing how how knowledge and skills come from observing the natural world around us. Physical sciences and indigenous teachings link together well, teachers can implement this by encouraging students to observe and connect with the land and nature.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
