Creately

A. Functions: Creately is a workspace that allows team members, teachers and classmates to collaborate effectively. It allows people to brainstorm their ideas, plans, and while also analyzing around projects or lessons.
Features: Offers pre-made templates that cover different cases in areas such as education, strategy and planning, product, and more. Creately offers more than 70 diagram types people can choose from to use. All the files you create on here can be assessed from anywhere and any device such as smartboard, computer, and phone. People can collaborate in real-time to online brainstorm together, plan together or have a meeting.
B. Strengths:
- Easy and simple to create charts and diagrams. It lets you edit it in anyway you want it.
- Students can benefit by creating their own flow charts and mind maps on there own or with a group. A group of students can work on the same mind map or flow chart at the same time. Students get the opportunity to share their thinking with classmates by collaborating virtually on the app and sharing what they created. Students also get the chance to look at examples on the website to help them when needed or to guide them. Creately helps prepare students for all other types of learning
-Teachers can benefit by using it along with their lessons. For example, teachers can use it to have students to create a story web, diagrams for note- taking, and Venn diagrams for integrating literature. Teachers can benefit also by using it to help them plan their lessons.
C. One of the limitations when using a template from creately free is you can only add two photos from google or even copy and paste. Once someone has already added two photos, they can add more but have to pay. Another limitation when using creately is it can be confusing for students to learn how to use such as younger grades because they're still trying to learn how to use technology in the classroom. Lastly, it has a five document limit so after that you would need to pay per month to create more.
D. I currently am in a Kindergarten classroom and teaching all subjects. In science at the moment we're learning about our five senses and how we use them. I created an account on creately and started exploring ways I could use this with my students. I found a template on there I could use for five senses to where they are put into different columns. I am interested to use this and pull it up on the smartboard with students instead of using all my paper to create an anchor chart. I could also use the KWL template on there when talking about different animals in science and seasonal weather patterns.

A. Function: A website and app that people such as teachers can use to customize any videos they like from different sources. The videos are customized to increase the way the viewers of the video interact and engage with them.
Features:
- Can stop videos as chosen time to share comments, open questions, or multiple choice questions.
-Audio notes
-Voiceover
- Access to more than 5 million videos free
-Create own video
-See student's results
B. Strengths:
- During the interactive video you create, at any time you can add comments and questions. While people are viewing the video, they can see the comments and questions before continuing with the video
-Students can benefit by having access to videos from a variety of sources. Students will get to engage in the video by answering questions and listening to any comments their teacher made instead of just listening to the video non-stop with no interaction.
- Teachers can benefit by letting students work independently on EDpuzzle while they do small groups. Teachers can add EDpuzzle assignments to a google classroom if teaching virtually. Another thing is that you can create your own EDpuzzle classroom and invite students. Teachers can let students make their own video lessons and check their work where it says "progress"
C. One of the limitations when using the app is that after creating 20 videos you have to start paying to make more. Another limitation is that it doesn't have an option for group video access, only individual access. One more thing is that not all students have internet access at home which could cause some issues if teachers wanted students to engage in videos at home or during a virtual class.
D. I am currently in a Kindergarten class teaching all subjects. I could use this with my students by creating videos on comprehension skills and math. Students would use this while I worked with students in small group because it would let me see the progress they made and if they watched the video.

Poll Everywhere

A. Function: Engage audiences across online workplaces by live polling, quizzes, surveys, and more.
Features:
-Audiences interact with live presentations using phone or computer
-Create questions
-Collect responses
- Different ways to answer a question on a poll
B. Strengths:
-Different poll types available
-Can be quickly created
-Open response questions, multiple choice questions, and more
- Quick check of understanding
- Can be used on phone or computer
- Can be used in small or whole group discussion
-Students can benefit by having a good potential whole group discussion. Students also get practice in the content or topic being discussed. Students have ownership of learning.
-Both teacher and student benefit from the option of open ended questions which gives flexibility to students answers and teachers questions
-Teachers can benefit by it being live to where she/he can give immediate feedback. Teachers can use this to hook students into the lesson they're about to do. It can give the teacher a fast way to get insight on student understanding. Can use students responses to create a word cloud for everybody to look at.
C. One of the limitations is that there is no filter between what students submit and what shows on display because it is anonymous. Another limitation is if you're using the free version, you only get to have 25 responses per poll. Some teachers do not have access to technology to allow students to respond to polls.
D. I am currently in a Kindergarten classroom where I teach all subjects. We are working on five senses in science and character and setting in ELA. I could create a poll of pictures and students click on which sense we use for what the picture shows such as a soft blanket. Another poll I could create is where we vote on who the characters were in the book and what the setting was. Doing a poll would help me see how many students are still confused on five senses and character and setting.
