Fossil fuels, such as oil and gas, are fuels made by biological waste like leafs, insects and food waste which has been stored underneath the ocean for millions of years. Because the fossil fuels are made from substances which used to be alive, they naturally contain a lot of carbon dioxide. The oil and gas would not have caused any issues or climatic problems if it was left alone in the subsea. But humans relatively recently discovered that we can suck it up and use it as fuel. The problem is that when we burn these fuels, we release the greenhouse gasses that they contain into the atmosphere. If we had not burned fossil fuels for our own benefit, the climate changes could possibly not be as threatening as they are today.

On Hillary's election website it says that Hillary is concerned about the environment. She also says that it is important for her that our children do not grow up in the world that will be if we do not make a change now. She has written down three specific goals which she wants to achieve when she is a president, which show that she is willing to take her words of concern into action.

Producing an iPhone, a car or a computer is relatively cheap today, but it definitely takes its toll on the environment as tiny pieces are being shipped to places all around the world. The production itself of products like these is contaminating as well, as it demands a lot of energy which often comes from fossil fuels. If we use our appliances a little bit longer before changing them out, we will not contribute to this .

Products that contain palm oil are produced by cutting down forests to grow palms. The forest that was already there contained a lot more CO2 than the palms can possibly contain. Giving money to companies that contribute to deforestation does not help out environment as we need our rain forests.
