We have made some progress, but we still have a lot of work left to do. There is some gender equality in this country, but nowhere near enough.

I think we have made some progress from where we used to be in gender equality. Ee still have a lot of work to do, like closing the pay gap, but we still have made some improvements, such as granting women the right to vote and having more women in leadership roles than we used to.

There has been some improvement, but progress still needs to be made for gender equality. There are a total of 22 female world leaders, which is a small group when thinking about all the leaders in the world. There is still a pay gap between men and women. In NC, men seem to be paid about $5,000-$10,000 more than women. Women only hold 5.2% of CEO positions, which is about 26 out of 500 companies.

I think that gender equality has made very good progress in the past couple years. Women have come out on top and have shown that women can be who they want to be. Men and women will be different and both have different roles and qualities but that does not mean one is above the other. Men and women are meant to work together not to be above the other. There are many women leaders in power and they are a force of change. Gender equality has come a long way and we are still moving towards complete equality. I don't think we will ever achieve full equality but we can keep moving forward in accepting each other. Some women must take the father's role and work in the workforce and hold a job while some fathers must be in the home and taking care of children so either way both roles are working together.

I think we have made very good progress as a society when it comes to gender equality, however we still have a little bit of work to do. Tolerance of women in the workforce and working outside of the home has changed dramatically in the past 50 years, and will only continue to grow. Women have leadership roles as CEO's, but only a mere 5.2% of Fortune 500 companies are captained by women. I think this number will continue to grow over time. When it comes to voting rights, acceptance, and switching gender roles (men working in the home) I think we are continuing to go in the right direction as a society.
