Tree kangaroos were almost endangered so they wanted to search for them. In page 180, paragraph 5, it says "Because so little is known about tree kangaroos, every detail is important." states that the scientists want to find out almost everything about them. They are rare animals and are almost extinct so scientists like them help save animal life. The scientists hope to find information about them in 10 minutes, so when they found two of them they had no choice but to feel lucky and happy that they found two almost extinct animals. Saving them was a smart decision they made to protect them.

In the text ''Quest for the Tree Kangaroo'' the scientist hope to learn some things about the elusive tree kangaroo. What do they hope to learn? You ask, well I am going to tell you right now. When the team goes to New Guinea they hope to learn how they can help these endangered animals so they wont become extinct. They plan on doing this by capturing and sedating a tree kangaroo and putting a collar on it to track the animal and study it.This will help them learn what they're being hurt by so the team can try and put an end to it. Now some of the things the team has learned from this adventure is that the tree kangaroo's body temperature is 97.1 degrees. This will help the team know that the tree kangaroo is healthy this will also help the know if the body temperature is the reason the tree kangaroos are becoming endangered. They then test the heartbeat which is 16 x 12 this helps them for the same reason I said for the body temperature. Finally, They cut the hair which will give them DNA so they know what the species is harmed by.

They can take their information and use it to let people know that they cool species and that they should be more protected since they are elusive, eventually they will become endangered.

One thing that the scientist want to learn about the tree kangaroo is that they want to put collars on the tree kangaroos so they can be tracked and studied. I got this information right from the text. i got it from page 176. on the first paragraph it says that she saw the tree kangaroo 20 years ago and she was facinated by them. so now she wants to find tree kangaroos in the wild and fit them with radio collars so they can be tracked and studied. they will fall off every 5 months. they are also endangered species. so if they put a radio collar they can protect them from predators. also they are small animals so they can get hurt easily. the way they helped the tree kangaroo is by looking around the forest. if they spot one they will call the rest of the crew and tell them that they have found one. then someone volunteers to climb up a tree and try to get a tree kangaroo.
