         <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a portal frame my uncle built a couple of years ago. The shed is built from steel and shuttered concrete walls. This method of construction was chosen as it is quick to assemble and it provides a large open space with no columns or supports that interrupt floor space. </p>]]></description>

         <title>Improving the sheds energy rating </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>If this shed was to be used as a work shop where the temperature has to be kept above a certain level, the wall and roof spaces could be filled with insulation and covered with either plasterboard or plywood. A layer of DPC would be needed in order to stop condensation from the tin from destroying the insulation. This would improve the buildings energy rating quite a bit. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The overall dimensions of the shed are 80ft x 40ft x 14ft for a shed of this size solar panels could be used as its source of power as is uses minimal electricity this cuts out the need for it to be connected to an external power source. As well as that there are gutters on each side of the shed that feed a tank that is used to run a tap the shed is also connected to a water mains but the mains are only used if the tank is low. This allows the shed to have a fairly low energy rating.  </p>]]></description>
