A heartfelt thank you to the Enfield Caribbean Association for their continued support in helping us organise this incredible event year after year.

As we reach the end of another remarkable year at St John and St James, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey we've shared together. What a year it has been, filled with great memories, amazing children, dedicated staff, and wonderfully supportive families.

I'm absolutely delighted to share our fantastic Year 6 SATs results – our pupils have truly excelled and should feel immensely proud of their achievements. Equally impressive were our Year 4 MTC results, which demonstrate the consistent hard work and dedication across all year groups. Our children have worked so hard this year, and it shows in everything they do.

The phenomenal end of Year 6 production of Oliver with a Twist was simply outstanding – what a wonderful way to showcase the talent and creativity of our departing Year 6 pupils. Speaking of memorable experiences, our amazing trip to the seaside created such special moments for everyone involved.

As we say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils, we're also bidding farewell to some valued members of our school family. Miss Prior, who has taught Year 6 for two years, will be greatly missed, as will Mr Daniel, our site manager for nine years – his dedication has been invaluable. Miss Woolley, our SENCO, is also leaving us, though we're pleased to welcome Miss Volkan as our new SENCO.

I must address an important matter regarding school trips. We've enjoyed lots of wonderful trips this year, but unfortunately, the school has had to make up the shortfall from those who haven't paid. Moving forward, we'll be setting up a cost for school trips on ParentPay to be paid in the Autumn term. Depending on participation, we'll need to make decisions about which trips can proceed. This is a sad but necessary decision. Any surplus balances will be refunded at year's end.

Please remember that school finishes at 3:15pm and clubs at 4:15pm. Too often, parents aren't collecting children on time, which has staffing implications and causes disruption. From 2nd September, parents will be charged £8.50 for each late collection of more than 10 minutes.
