-By Aksharkumar Sudhirkumar Patel
Object description :
The Great Sphinx Of Giza, is a 4500 year old limestone statue situated near The Great Pyramid , Giza, Egypt. It is the mythological creature with the body of lion and head of person. In Ancient Egypt a lot of times the head was that of a Pharaoh or a god.The Egyptians built sphinx statues to guard important areas such as tombs and temples. It is one of the largest and oldest statues in the world. Archeologists believe that it was carved around 2500 BC and that the head is meant to be the likeness of the Pharaoh Khafra. The Great Sphinx faces the sunrise and guards the pyramid tombs of Giza. There are different stories surrounding what happened to the nose of the sphinx.

My Interest :
My interest is why the pyramids were built ? What was the need to built the Sphinx of Giza? Does the life exists after the death and if yes, how could it be so limited in the pyramids ? Many researchers are advancing to the topic of Pyramids to find out the clue that was it for the same reason that they were built for the life after death or there is something else.

My Learning : I would definitely like to learn about the perfect mythological significance of the pyramids and the mummy which are said to be there inside it . The things along with the body which were said to be stored in the pyramids thinking it would be beneficial for the kings after the death. Furthermore, the pyramids were made up of the large limestone which are like 2.3 metric tonnes in weight which is surprising to me as how could it be possible in the ancient time to built this large pyramids?

Ancient Wisdom - by Akshar Patel

Object description:

In the ancient time in countries like India, China and Pakistan there was deliberate killing of newborn female children by drowning them into the big container filled with milk (dudh peeti) and forcing them to death in order to avoid dowry, which is known as female infanticide. Dowry system refers to the durable goods, cash and real or movable property that the bride's family gives to the bridegroom, his parents,or his relatives as a condition of the marriage. In spite of being criminalized, it is one of the most under- reported crimes. The reason behind this is probably the worst thought that eventually girls get married and go to another household and serve them. Therefore, they are often considered as a financial burden.

My learning:
The things I want to learn are why this beliefs are still going on in some deeper areas as now the world is developing on a faster pace, this beliefs should be totally eradicated from the society. Why there are cultural preferences for the males as there's nothing in the hands of human. The birth of the child, whether it is a male or female is considered as a gift from God. The ultimate creator is god and there's nothing to be differentiated between humans.
