Winter snows and summer rains produced plentiful forests,lakes, and streams. The forests provided most of what the Haudenosaunee, commonly referred to as the Iroquois, needed to live.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The eastern Woodland people built sturdy log- framed houses that were covered in bark from elm trees. The houses that they lived in were usually about 20 feet wide and up to 400 feet long. Different families lived in different sections of these houses.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One ritual that the Iroquois do is called the "Green Corn Festival" this usually took place in the late summer, they celebrated the ripening of the corn crops. During this time they feasted,fasted,danced,and had religious observations. This ceremony usually lasted for 3 days. The corn was supposedly not to be eaten until it was given the proper thanks.</div>]]></description>
