Tal was an amazing teacher. She progressed the class diligently all year, she knew the kids as individuals, she was able to connect with each of them and she infused the class with Israeli culture, language, and personality. thank you Tal!

תודה בשם מאיה ואנוכי. היתה שנה נהדרת! מאיה עברה שינוי מדהים מבחינת הגישה שלה לעברית. היא קוראת כמעט שוטף ואפילו התחילה להנות מלהגיד מילים בעברית פה ושם. משהו שלא עשתה שנים ארוכות.

תודה על כל הכייף שהיה לה עם הכיתה הנהדרת! נראה לי שהיתה ממש דינמיקה טובה בקבוצה השנה. ומורה נפלאה!

I fear writing back in Hebrew but you are really so amazing as a teacher. This is after getting a master’s in Jewish studies at Jewish Theological seminary (lots of Hebrew). Too many ulpans, and 10 years of living in Israel. I am loving learning with you. Where were you in early 90s when I needed such a great teacher?

Abigail was very nervous about going into level 3 this year, but after meeting her teacher the first class she felt a lot better about it. Abigail has a hearing impairment and zoom classes are sometimes hard for her hearing wise, but she learned a lot and really enjoyed the class.

That was such an amazing Holocaust studies class. I love how you interacted with the students and inspired them to interact as well. I loved that no answer was a wrong answer and you are amazing at making every comment fit in somehow. You did a great job showing patience, humor, and keeping the class moving along.

Noah really got a lot out of this class and I learned a lot just sitting on the sidelines listening. Great Job!!!

Hadar Markin - הדר מרקין

I took Hebrew 1 with Hadar Markin. She was absolutely incredible, or should I say "metsuyan." I had no prior experience, but with Hadar's instructions I was able to fully complete all of the learning objects I went into class hoping to achieve: alphabet, basic vocabulary, and general knowledge about Israeli culture. The class was wonderful, engaging and paced just right. Whenever I needed clarification or extra practice, Hadar was able to help me understand a topic and provide extra materials for me to work on at home. I could always email my homework and Hadar would respond with how I was doing: whether my handwriting was correct, etc.

I would take another class, if it was offered during the summer. I took this class initatilly to prepare me for college level Hebrew (I am about to begin college and intend to take Hebrew as my language requirement), so during the Fall I will be enrolled in my college Hebrew course so I won't be taking OFEC. Otherwise, I would most definitely sign up for a secondary class. I will be recommending this course to family and friends interested in learning Hebrew.
