Before doing the semantic map, Keily knew she wanted to write about flowers. After the map, she figured out she did not want to write any more about flowers. This allowed Keily to zero in on what she exactly wanted to write about. That strength in decisiveness allowed me to figure out how much support she needed.

This draft showed me that Keily has strengths in writing about many different things on one subject. She wrote about what trees need to grow, the fruits that trees have and how people play with trees. She was able to expand on that.

This draft taught me that getting all of the ideas down on the page is a good first step.
