Interns will collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on a weekly basis. This is a collaborative internship where interns will develop their democratic competency. Interns participate in civic actions, organize voter registration and turnout projects in their communities, perform targeted outreach, engage in advocacy and activism, find and participate in volunteer opportunities together, attend the TurnUp Speaker Series, as well as do civic and activism related research and writing. Most importantly, they will work together to advocate for issues important to young people, fight voter suppression and boost youth voter turnout in the United States. Upon completion, interns are prepared to go forward being civically responsible and engaged activists.
