CHERYL CHAN, 2nd Congre
"You Loved Us First", 2026
Lyrics & music

God has been placing new worship songs in my heart for as long as I can remember, even when I was a little girl. These songs formed a key part of my worship and quiet time with Him, with the words expressing what I want to speak with Him about in that moment. However, it was only this year that I was really moved to pen these songs down properly, to share what God has given me with others.

When I wrote this song “You Loved Us First”, it came from a place of absolute awe of how much God loves me and has repeatedly called me back to Him, has spoken to me, comforted me and has been there for me throughout good times and suffering. The love He has shown me has driven a desire in me to love and serve others in any small way I can, in my everyday life, and that is the transforming power of Christ at work.

I hope that this song will bless others in their time of worship and encourage them in times of need.

SAMUEL IMMANUEL LIM, 3rd Congre

"Singaporean Gospel Lens", 2026

Digital art

Intertwined with real encounters and fleeting yet significant moments, these real encounters captured bear gospel witness through a renewing and redemptive grace, especially since several featured elders have since passed on and many migrant brothers have returned home. Drawing upon 10 years as a professional creative, this collection offers a profound visual reflection on gospel renewal, capturing Christian's interactions with Seniors in Christian Care Home(s) and Migrant Workers receiving Clinical Care through a Christian NGO located in Geylang. That being said, their transient presence also leaves an indelible, soulful mark on the island’s social fabric. Having personally witnessed these contexts between 2017 and 2026, I intended for these works to speak directly to viewers, weaving real-life photographic documentation with street art aesthetics. I simultaneously draw conceptual regional influence from British Straits Settlements of Penang, Malacca and Singapore and of the three, I chose George Town, Penang’s 2008 UNESCO Heritage Street Art Movement as the anchor inspiration.

SAMUEL IMMANUEL LIM, 3rd Congre

"Singing Inclusively For A Plentiful Harvest", 2026

Digital art

Inspired by real, heartfelt tradition of Christmas Caroling amidst a Perennial Festive Spirit within a Singaporean Christian Home, this collection simultaneously captures those fleeting expressions of singing one's heart out in faith out of love for a diverse, disabled elderly and neurodivergent individuals. Rejecting the reliance on institutional grandiosity or physical sacred architecture, these works relocate the locus of divine presence, which is my interpretation of the Intimate, Active Personhood of the Holy Spirit, directly into the ordinary spaces where Singaporean Christians serve, hence these enduring grace is subsequently revealed through the quiet, micro-moments of life where Singaporean Christians have seamlessly woven themselves diversely into multi-generational, multicultural, and socioeconomic tapestry. I hope my artistic work captures a theology reimagined not as abstract dogma, but as a living, relational praxis. Hence, 2008 UNESCO Penang Murals and Scriptures help serve to direct this work in highlighting art woven into the everyday encounters of Singapore's Christian community across lines of age, culture, and class.
