(I gave my other students semantic map back before copying it). This is a unique way to get all the information out of a student that he or she knows about a topic. This is a very useful way to use if a student is stuck and can not think of any more information to give. I am glad I was able to observe Dr. Hickey perform this activity. This draft did not tell me much about about second language writing, this student is very smart but he knows all his sounds there are just some phonics he needs to work on and be taught. This student is where most students are his age with the writing part, just sounding out letters. She got really excited throughout this activity because she was able to draw her favorite place for both reading and writing. My student expressed how much she loved frozen, so every time she would draw something with a character from frozen I would encourage her to tell me more about it and why she loves it and why she included it in her picture. My student loved telling me all about her toys and she loved drawing the book shelf that she really wanted so she could fill up the shelfs with all the different kinds of books she loves to read in her room alone.
