In this video, the narrator explains what a Bitcoin is and how it can be beneficial, for example, online shopping.  The reason for this is because there is no “middle man” like a financial institution. Thus, making it more secure because you don’t have to hope that the financial institution will keep your information safe.  The video also talks about some problems that these digital currencies could bring.  

I found it useful learning that Bitcoin is completely anonymous and how it makes it more secure buy, sell and trade items.  The video as a whole was very useful.

In the video, YouTube account “Dolfski”, shows how you can buy Bitcoin in Canada using an online service called Quadriga.   This 11-minute video goes over how to create an account, choose how much bitcoin you want to buy, how to see your orders and more. 

I found it useful learning that there is an online service designed to make it easy for Canadians to buy bitcoins.  I also found it useful that you can use certain debit cards to fund your account such as a Visa Debit. 

In this video, the content creator brings many tips into light.  For example, bitcoins past performance doesn’t reflect its future, meaning that you shouldn’t invest in it just because it did great last week.  He also talks about how it’s bad to invest on emotion, because you might make poor decisions.  

I found it useful learning many tips before getting into Bitcoin investing.  My favourite tip is not getting greedy.  I think this is a great tip because greediness is a huge downfall to many people’s wallets, because they hope the price will skyrocket when it might drop to record lows the next day.  It is very important not to be greedy!

On this website, author “Alexey Malanov” talks about many of the risks and downsides to the well known currency, Bitcoin.  Some of the issues discusses includes loosing a wallet file, spoofing a user address and user address error.  

I found it useful how at the bottom of the page, the author left some helpful tips when using digital currencies.  One of my favourite tips is double checking the users address before sending because it is very easy to send money to the wrong address if one character is off.  

On this website, the article highlights that the value of Bitcoin has been increasing due to the great features discussed earlier like security and because more companies are planning to allow for Bitcoin to be used.  In addition, this site discusses how Bitcoins are created using computer farms and why people would use Bitcoin.  

I found it very useful to see some of the factors for people jumping on the Bitcoin train.  It can help somebody make a decision whether they think its going to keep rising and they should invest or if its just a dying trend. 

On this website, the author discusses the 6 digital currencies, Litecoin, Ethereum, Zcash, Dash, Ripple and Monera.  She talks about what each currency has to offer and some of the benefits to using them as well as who uses them.  At the end of the page a “bottom line” is provided and it talks about how Bitcoin still leads the pack but we are not quite sure what the feature holds.

I found the author’s comparison of Bitcoin and Litecoin to gold and silver very useful.  It gives you an understanding from a non digital currency perspective that makes it easy to understand.
