When reading this article I wasn't focused on the meme aspect because I wanted to focus on the outcome of the two participants because comparing their two stories is a prime example of racism in our society. 

Tamir Rice was a 12 year old black kid who was shot by white police men because he was holding a toy gun. After the shooting Tamir's mother like any mourning black mother asked the Ohio Supreme Court to reject the police officer's attempt to get his job back. While the verdict was that the officer didn't get his job back, his lawyers from the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association argued he was wrongfully terminated. 

On the flip side Kyle Rittenhouse, a white teenage boy (who's almost an adult) walked past a police officer after "allegedly" shooting and killing 2 people but was not apprehended despite bystanders alerting the police. After the shooting he drove home and the next day was arrested. Kyle had to go into trial and the verdict was that all charges were acquitted (found not guilty).

A number of people were calling her slurs, spreading racist stereotypes towards her, and claiming she was a token diversity hire on social media, and on top of that a number of conservative pundits were then saying that the racism was overblown and that "the Left" was overplaying the racism to obfuscate her mediocre acting ability, even though from what I've seen she isn't a bad actor. So overall, a ton of hateful people lashed out at an actress simply because they didn't like that a person of color was playing a character in a show they wanted to watch.
