One of my strongest desires in life is in the exploration of the unknown. One experience that exemplifies this was an internship that I did this past summer at MSU. in this internship I performed graduate level research and got to speak and hear from a wide variety of experts and individuals in a lot of different fields. from this i was able to put what i am good at to use and learn more about opportunities within the fields of science that i am interested in. Just like Walter in Will Weaver's "The Undeclared Major" I felt as though I was being the essence of myself through this work (Schwehn and Bass Ch.2).

My advisor, Dr.Kelly Vaughan

Dr.Vaughan has been my academic advisor since my freshman year at King. throughout my years here she has been a wonderful influence on me, helping to guide me professionally, academically, and personally. she has helped me to try to find my authentic self and to take what steps are needed in order to become that individual. In a way she has acted as the adults in Lois Lowry's "The Giver" during the community ceremony in that she has helped guide me to a vocation that I am very well suited for as well as a vocation that I happen to call to as well. Without her I would not be anywhere near the person I am today.

David Attenborough

This is a playlist of various documentaries that are narrated by David Attenborough. All of them are related in some way to nature or as a study of the natural sciences. These were always my favorite as a kid, particularly those narrated by David due to his unique way of narrating and the feeling f love for nature that pours out of him. He was a huge influence on little me loving nature and science and getting started from a young age onto the path that I am still on today. Not only do I aspire to be as charismatic and well versed in the science of organisms as David, but also able to inspire and help so many people around he world to love being outside and experiencing this wonderful world all around us.

Orange Juice by Noah Kahan

Although a more recent discovery, Noah Kahan has helped me through his music. A lot of his songs help to share stories of struggling with personal issues such as alcoholism, breakups, and returning to somewhere you thought was home just to feel like a stranger. This song in particular is a bit different in that the singer is offering everything they can to help make an event as comfortable for someone recovering from alcoholism as possible. Throughout the song he shares many small things, that often go unnoticed, that he did to comfort this friend and helps to show an unbridled love for another human being regardless of what ales them. It helps to remind me to do every little thing I can do for those that I love regardless of what may happen because at the end of the day its these individuals that I want to give all of my love (another song in the album). Another reason I chose this is because of how influential music has been for me over my entire life. from being just a small child to now, music has always been a constant companion and has helped me to discover and be who I want. this can be represented by my diverse library of music exemplifying my diverse history and diversity in my friendships.

Christopher Paolini

This a compilation of quote from the first ever young adult book that I ever read was "Eragon" by Christopher Paolini. From reading this I now have my own collection of books and have read the Inheritance Cycle trilogy many times over. From these works and similar works that this series inspired me to pursue, I have discovered a love for fantasy, reading, and the many different lessons nestled within each story. from this i have definitely learned many unique lessons with the most important being to never judge others for their appearance and deminer, a common theme within these works. along side this was always the deep message to find ones calling and call back to it, embracing what it is one wants to become. through thick and thin it is ultimately the drive to be who one wants to be that will deliver who it is their meant to be.
