This is because people in America still believed in him to not be equal to him. his work in trying to get the African American people to have has made thew white people of America see the African American people the same, although there is still some minor groups that don't believe African Americans are equal, such as the Klu Klux Klan. Which are a radical group that believe every person that has a dark skin tone is a animal and not equal to them. These people are also trying to get African American people to have no more rights again. during martin Luther king jr time he received a hate letter from the KKK threatening to kill him if he didn't stop standing up for what he believed in. there is many conspiracies that suggest James Earl Ray, the person who shot martin Luther king jr was association with the KKK to kill martin Luther king. I really like that he is so open about what he believes in and isn't afraid of what the consequences could be but what good it could bring. his I have a dream speech is really inspiring to say that "sons of slave owners and sons former slaves can sit down together".
