We won't do it. Just rest." (Page 241 Paragraph 10) This is one of my favorite quotes because it really shows what type of person the narrator is. Even though he obviously wanted Granny, his best friend to live, he let her go in peace and didn't make her feel bad for her decision.

Katie's bond with Granny reminds me of the bond my grandmother has with her dog. My Grandfather passed away several years ago (like Granny's Husband) and my grandmother grew lonely. We decided to get her a dog to keep her company, and that was one of the best choices we have ever made! By having her dog, she feels like she has a companion that keeps her company and brings her happiness. This is similar to how Granny feels lonely when her husband passes away. However, after she meets Katie, she becomes more happy and has a purpose.
