    • Quintain. A stanza with five lines.

    • Sestet. A stanza with six lines.

    • Septet. A stanza with seven lines. This is sometimes called a “rhyme royal.”

    • Octave. A stanza with eight lines written in iambic pentameter, or ten syllable beats per line.
