         <title>I focused my energy on *classroom culture*- building a sense of community in our virtual and hybrid space.  This year, I&#39;m planning to continue focus on culture, with an additional focus on *equity of voice.*  I struggled with equity of voice during remote learning, and am hoping to grow my toolbox of strategies and methods for eliciting student response.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I focused a lot of my energy last school year on classroom culture. Last year was a very unique year and I had a group of 9th graders who have never met me and vice/versa. Since we were online for the first 3 quarters of the school year, it was important to me to get to know my students and they know me. I wanted the students to know that I cared, that I understood times are scary and its OK to feel what you're feeling. I wanted them to know that I am here to help.&nbsp; I will continue with classroom culture building on those relationships.<br>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <title>Last year we focused a lot on classroom culture... or at least we tried. I think that the virtual medium did not help students break out of their comfort zone. We did have a few victories like students exchanged snaps based on common interest activities and making jokes about anime but I think since we will have yet a different dynamic coming back tot he school next year we can focus on that to reintegrate students into socializing and working together. </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Due to the pandemic really shifting everyone's learning environment, I focused a lot on making sure everyone could access and demonstrate learning.          <title>I focused on classroom culture because I think that is the building block for everything else, especially in the remote learning situation that we had. I will probably continue to focus on that for next year--the group of students that I had worked with for in some cases five years has graduated, and while I have existing relationships with many students I will also be working with new students for the first time in a few years so I want to make sure I&#39;m prioritizing culture in my classroom.</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I feel as if I floated my focus back and forth between instructional and institutional. It took me a 9 Weeks session to understand that having virtual students do the same as face to face was not equitable, so adjustments were made that better impacted my virtual students. This also allowed more time for me to focus on face to face students. I focused institutionally by being a voice for teachers on our campus who felt like they weren't being heard. Our Hollyhock team met with admin and discussed the inequities between departments, teachers, and overall inconsistencies between leadership.</div>]]></description>
