This type of brief is a formal written document which contain a specific and precise details about the goals that need to be achieved. while this document is precise it is not a legal document so those issued the brief still have the ability to express themselves creatively.
Advantages 
  • because of the creative freedom you can work around problems within the brief while in more restrictive briefs you would not be able to
  • less restrictions creates less pressure as u do not have to worry as much about following the brief.
Disadvantages
  • its very general so things may be missed out or not included
  • because it is not legally binning you may tend to neglect it

  • The main advantage to working to a competition brief is the fact that it requires you to constantly improve and update your skills to be able to get the brief to work with.
  • Another Advantage to working with a Competition brief is how you can publicise your own name in the industry so you will more likely get scouted.
Disadvantage:
  • No consistent income 
  • Could damage your confidence 
  • Low chance of succeeding from the beginning
  • Information exchange is more difficult

  • Have very specific details that can be followed easily along with milestones that needs to be met, therefore the team will not likely be lost in the production process.
  • Legally binding therefore difficult to be neglected or misinterpreted therefore easier and faster to complete.
Disadvantage:
  • It doesn't give the creators much creative freedom but some design and minor aspect of the brief.
  • Have milestones and stuff to be met and so the stress on the employee will be higher since there will always be a deadline creeping up.

  • Advantage
  • Lots of great ideas and new perspective that will eventually merge into a single great idea of which the two companies could cooperate and work towards.
  • Have more talents to work with and have more people that are specialised in a certain aspect of the Brief while putting in not as much budget as you would have if you took up this brief alone.
    • Disadvantage
    • Arguments could occur which slows down the development process.
    • Miscommunication and the tempo of work might be different and so the two company would not work well since if the progress rate is different, one of the two company would hold the other company back.
