It was removed by the state capital due to the fact there were large protests in Louisville and Kentucky, over the death of Breonna Taylor, an  unarmed Black woman that was shot eight times in her home. Additionally, in May 25 it was the killing of George Floyd where there were police demonstrations of brutality against Black Americans.
