He probably sees money as a way to solve all problems because he is a wealthy man and has killed a lot of animals. I don’t agree with him, obviously, some problems are irreversible.

Eckel is not a good person he is one of those people that gets on your nerves because he thinks he is all that but then when presented with a problem he won’t do anything. “Eckles swayed on the padded seat, his face pale, his jaw stiff. He felt the trembling in his arms, and he looked down and found his hands tight on the new rifle.”
