When I first met Bruno I thought he looked funny. He was dressed nicely but I wondered why he got to dress nicely while I was covered in dirt and forced to wear striped clothes that are very uncomfortable. 
How did you feel when he suggested you should come to his house for dinner?
I knew I didn't want to the moment he asked me. He had told me that his father was a soldier and I don't want anything to do with any soldiers. They're all evil. His sister also sounds like a pain.
What did you feel when he asked you not to hate his father?
I thought, "How can I not? He is a soldier." All soldiers are evil, they can and do do horrible, ugly things, I've seen it. I don't know how Bruno can live with someone like that

I wonder why Maria still works for the family. I'm guessing there are good benefits, since she has stayed this long. But at this point I would rather work a lower quality job and not have to be worried. 
2. This is just a hypothetical. But I wonder what if someone else caught Bruno and Shmuel talking. Like Maria, or Mother. They seem like kind hearted people. But they are also very compliant. Would they expose Shmuel in fear of themselves? Or would they help him?
3. I wonder how the grandparents get along. They seem like polar opposites. I wonder if this has affected Bruno’s father. Maybe due to their disagreements his father was'nt around, so now he is super nationalistic in a attempt to grow closer to him. I hope the book explores the relationship between Bruno’s father and his parents. Maybe it will explain some things.
