Jack is able to make more connections to what he has read to himself and his environment.  

He also uses onomatopoeia words to express his observations.

Jack enjoys his safe haven at home with his dog - lots of fun time.

He uses words that expressed more of his feelings.

He sees his home environment through the eyes of his dog.

If his dog is happy, he is happy.

He has also showed maturity in his poems - longer stanza - painting more detailed pictures.

He has grown in confidence and declared ownership in his poems - “I typed this up myself”

- Use of exclamation marks and direct speech to express urgency and anxiety
- Use of impactful one-word per line 

Not wanting to share about his experience with his dog but writing about it in a somewhat inconspicuous manner
Then slowly growing to sharing about the details of his grief and trauma to enable himself to move past the incident by writing about it
