Needing multiple layers of clothing before going outside for school, they were not living how they wanted. This new change was not something that they enjoyed. It was cold, slow, and a boring lifestyle. All they had to do is get used to this cold region. Shouldn't be hard, right?

The heat's broken at the house. Everyone's freezing. The Brown Bomber is covered in snow. The family chooses to clear off the car. Everyone's helping each other, keeping each other warm, and working together. As Byron's looking at himself in the mirror he stick his tounge out and puts in on the car. He tounge gets stuck! He starts yelling for Kenny but he isn't buying it, yet he went over anyways. Kenny got the parents and they poured hot water on his tounge. He started to go, wacko! Byron was saying no but then he got out and they were fine after all.

Meeting Grandma Sands/ Going to Alabama

Chapter 11, finally getting to Alabama. After the longest trip ever they finally get to meet Grandma Sands. Kenny and Byron were thinking that she would be a mean and big bad wolf, yet once they met her she was so different! When she came out of the door she was just a teeny-tiny shriveled up woman. They were worried that Byron was going to destroy or like be better I guess than Grandma Sands.

Their life in Flint/Dinosaur Nazi

During their life in Flint Kenny was playing Dino's with a kid named LJ. Them two would play most of the time until Kenny realized that some of his Dino's were missing! Kenny then caught on that LJ was taking some. One day they both played with the dolls and made a hole for the "radio active." After all that playing Kenny went inside to get some sleep. Soon he realized something... He left his Dino's in the hole! He snuck outside and saw that all the dinos were gone! His momma didn't like LJ. He stopped playing with LJ after that day...

16th Street Bombing/Watsons

Kenny wakes up to see Joey getting ready for Sunday school. Kenny falls asleep under Grandma Sands' magnolia free and wakes to a thunderous sound and shake. Then, for a brief moment, the world around Kenny seems to stop. Neighbors come outside to investigate the strange sound. Kenny learns that somebody bombed the church Joey attended. Following his parents into the commotion, Kenny sees scared people everywhere. Momma, Dad, and Byron look all crazy, hanging onto one another and shouting. Kenny notices a man carrying a little girl in a blue dress, just like the angel from Kenny's vision in the whirlpool. Kenny makes his way into the smoky church and spots a shiny black shoe among the rubble. Trying to pull the shoe from the concrete, Kenny realizes that the Wool Pooh's square, gray fingers grasp the other end! Kenny manages to tug the shoe off a frilly white sock before escaping back toward the house. He walks past a strange atmosphere of screaming, shaken adults, and young girls laid out on the grass. He goes back home to see that Joetta was at home.

Byron Beats a Kid

It was another cold day in Flint. Byron's already done some pretty harsh things. Every day the Watsons would layer up before going places like to school. One day Kenny's gloves went missing! It stayed that way until they found out who did it. Byron started to beat up Larry and gave the gloves back to Kenny. Byron then tells Kenny to punch Larry, but Kenny does not want to. Byron makes Larry run into a chain link fence over and over while the other kids make fun of Larry's lack of winter clothes and the holes in his shoes. This causes problems...

It's so sad because those girls lost their lives, and it hurt a lot of people's hearts. But you know what? Even though it was a really dark time, it also made a lot of people stand up and say, "This is not right!" It kind of pushed people to work even harder for fairness and to make sure everyone gets treated the same. So, even though it was really sad, it helped make some good changes happen too.
