Some of the top artists at the time were Art Blakey, Louis Armstrong, Max Roach, and Freddie Hubbard. In the 1950s, there were some very popular artists, such as Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Pasty Cline. People at the time were really loving the spiritual feel of blues at the time. The growth of jazz stared in the 1920s going through the 1940s, but in the 1950s, jazz became as popular as it has ever been. Some of the to ranking jazz artists at the time were Louis Armstrong, Charlie Parker, and Ray Charles.
