The island you can see in the distance is Foula where the film The Edge of the World was shot in 1937 by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. In some ways it's a very "Manchester view": the mix of the old and new, industrial warehouses and new luxury flats (that church is apartments!), and lots of construction.
