From here you can travel to many of the over 900 offshore islands in Scotland. This is looking north west with the mighty island of Mull in the distance.

I'm creating visuals using archive film of the mountains for touring Jenny's album which is inspired by the pioneering nature book The Living Mountain by Nan Shepherd.

Rain at 11.11am on 22 March 2019: We get a lot of rain in Scotland. With over 4500mm (180in) of rain each year, we're one of the wettest places in Europe BUT this means we have the best cinema weather! This video is from my guesthouse when I was doing schools screenings on the island of Barra in the chain of islands we call the Western Isles or Na h-Eileanan Siar in Scottish Gaelic.

Wild wind and rain at 7.51pm on 29 August 2016: The Shetland Islands are our most northerly islands - they're actually nearer to Norway than the Scottish mainland which means they have a proud Viking heritage. The island you can see in the distance is Foula where the film The Edge of the World was shot in 1937 by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. It's one of a number of films they made in Scotland and are fascinating 'outsider' representations of Scottish rural and island life made by non-Scottish filmmakers.

As we move into Autumn, we get quite a few of these grey days but I love this time of year: it's my birthday this month and it's the time of year we go hunting for horse chestnuts to play a traditional game of conkers.

This is the view from my (Fraser's) tiny city centre apartment in Manchester.

In some ways it's a very "Manchester view": the mix of the old and new, industrial warehouses and new luxury flats (that church is apartments!), and lots of construction.

In other ways it's very unlike Manchester: it's not raining and I can actually see the sun. (We get 140 days of rain here every year, though living here it certainly feels more like 365 days a year)
