The kids at HTH worked much harder than I'm sure they ever had before. But they were excited to do that work--and even if they didn't know their passions, I bet many of them discovered some along the road to the Exhibition. AND, the teachers were excited, too! I was one of those students not engaged through school, which is one of the reasons I became a teacher. I started teaching twenty-two years ago and was able to take the time in the classroom for more project-based learning. As education has focused more on data points, that creativity has been replaced with scripted 
Programs in order to cover each standard with fidelity in every classroom. Isn't there a middle ground?
