         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;The Korean war was a conflict between North Korea and the South. It commenced on June 25, 1950 and ended on July 27, 1953. It all began when World War ll ended, The United States and Soviet Union both split Korea, creating both North and South Korea. With the North being communist, and the South being a republic. The North then decided to pursue the plan to unify the Korean Peninsula, which is what led to the conflict in philosophies and war.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On June 25, 1950 North Korea crossed the 38<sup>th</sup> parallel invading South Korea. Their objective was to unify the Korean Peninsula under the communist rule of Kim ll- sung. In September of 1950, General MacArthur made an astonishing military decision to show up at the port of Inchon. This tactical decision cut off and forced the North Korean troops to retreat back onto their rightful side of the 38<sup>th</sup> parallel.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

Although the agreement ended the fighting, it never had the approach of being a peace treaty. Each military withdrew and prohibit from entering from the air, ground, or sea. It also released all prisoners from each side. 3 months after effect, there was political conference. It settled questions of withdrawal and peaceful settlement.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In August 14 of 1945, Japan had surrendered, ending World War 2. On that night, the U.S army divided Korea where the Soviet Union and The United States would hold control. They both agreed that the 38<sup>th</sup> parallel would be the division of the North and South Korea. In 1948 it was established that South Korea would be a Republic and the North communist.&nbsp;In early 1949, Kim Il- sung presented a case to his ruler at the time, Joseph Stalin, stating that it was time for them to invade South Korea. Subsequently, Stalin reused, worried about the involvement of the United States and them not being prepared. Later, in 1950, Stalin agreed to invade South korea.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Approximately 250 miles ​long and 2.5 miles wide, it remains one of the most heavily militarized borders in the world with both sides manning their respective defenses." the casualties estimate to 778,000 for UN/ south Korean forces while north Korea and china suffered about 1.5 million. After everything south Korea developed the worlds largest economic while north Korea remained a isolated "pariah" state.</div>]]></description>
