One student communication that I think of is writers workshop. Create a day where the students read their writings that they wrote and pop popcorn and make it a whole big deal. Make it the best day in the world just by them sharing their writing.

Communicating with caregivers can be done by hosting a back to school night. On this night you can layout your expectations for the year. Also a way of monthly communication you could design a newsletter every month to inform caregivers of what happening in the class in the upcoming month.

I want to use the Power of the Post-it note. I will have a wall in my room designated for sticky notes. The meaning behind this is to write encouraging notes to one another or even just communicate with others in the classroom . I would have to reinforce that this is not a dating wall, not to post your cell phone numbers or ask a girl or guy out. This is for inspirational quotes and things you find meaningful to you throughout the school year. I will provide time for this each morning right after our bell work activity. I have thought about even allowing them to look some quotes up to write down and write in their journals why they picked that quote and what it means to them.

Class dojo allows for the teacher to send updates on the student's behavior, classwork, and grades in the class. It also provides an avenue for the parents and students to communicate directly with the teacher and all conversations are viewable by the parents, teachers, and students but not with anyone else.
