Dear Mr Martin, 

I am writing to you regarding the Creative In Excellence tutoring position. I feel that I have excellent skills that I can bring to the programme and previous experience that will make me an ideal candidate. 

I am a hardworking, conscientious individual who consistently performs at the best of my ability, as demonstrated by my excellent GCSE results. I achieved 5 A*s and 6 As, including an A in both English and Maths. I then went on to study Additional Maths in which I achieved a distinction. I am now studying Maths, Biology, Chemistry and French at A-Level and I am hoping to go on to study Veterinary Medicine at university. 

I have a lot of experience working with young people and helping them to further their learning. I recently completed a placement at the Clwyd Special Riding Centre in Wrexham, working with children and young adults with special needs. This experience helped me to develop my team working skills as well as my communication skills, as I was often required to adapt my approach to best suit the needs of the individual child. 

Whilst studying for my GCSEs, I took part in a paired reading scheme as part of the Welsh Baccalaureate qualification. I worked one-to-one with a year 7 student over a period of ten weeks, helping them with their literacy skills by creating different activities to engage the student. I am also currently taking part in a ‘bunsen buddies’ scheme where I work with a year 7 class once a week and assist the teacher during the lesson. 

I feel that this role would be extremely beneficial for my own personal development and would allow me to gain the skills and experience I need for my future goal.
