Angie started off with two different phones answering calls on both. She was sitting on the floor of her 100 square foot office while doing so.

Angie packed up all of her belongings into her little Ford escort and moved to Columbus, Ohio, to be closer to Bill. She did this so that they can work together to figure out a business that they want to start up together.

After Angie recruited over 1,000 members in Columbus within one year. The company then bought Unified Neighbors from its owner and moved the company's headquarters to Indianapolis.

Angie hired her first employee named Maggie to work for the company. Once the interview ended, Maggie says "if you are going to hire me, you will need my phone number". Maggie has recently celebrated her 20 year mark for working at Angie's List.

After Angie finished business school, she ended up deciding to return to Angie's List. Shortly after that time, they were opening up to one or two new markets a year.

They initially hired 2 college kids to build them a basic website that did not really show the actual list, but it was mainly for marketing. They ended up getting about half of their member signups from their website so that's when they knew they needed an actual website.

They finally upscaled to national marketing and became a raced open markets. In 18 months during that period of expansion, they opened up to 100 new markets.
