Our village, Mavrommati, is 20 km away from the ancient town of Thiva, the birthplace of Oedipus, the tragic hero of Thiva (Thebes) and main character of so many ancient Greek tragedies (Greek Ancient Drama) world-famous and celebrated all over the world. 
Our village is not very big. It has about 1250 people living there, but we are very proud of its long history,  natural beauty and famous Greek athletes and artists of popular Greek culture. We recently celebrated our first graduate who was awarded a doctorate at an early age and visited our school (his actually) to thank and honour his first school. 
Even though our village is small, our school is quite big and very well equipped (we have two nice buildings, a small theatre for our school events, a library, a quite big playground with basketball courts and a football field).
Since now, our students have participated in various national academic/educational competitions in different fields (science/maths/environmental/arts/etc) with quite good results.

According to Wikipedia, Oedipus (the one with the "swollen foot") was a mythical Greek king of Thebes (Thiva). A tragic hero in Greek mythology, Oedipus accidentally fulfilled a prophecy that he would end up killing his father and marrying his mother, thereby bringing disaster to his city and family.
The story of Oedipus is the subject of Sophocles' tragedy Oedipus Rex, which is followed in the narrative sequence by Oedipus at Colonus and then Antigone. Together, these plays make up Sophocles' three Theban plays. Oedipus represents two enduring themes of Greek myth and drama: the flawed nature of humanity and an individual's role in the course of destiny in a harsh universe.

Fatima Al-Zahra Elementary School for Girls was established in 2010 in the southern province of Al-Tafila. The school was separated in 2010 from Al-Qadisiya Secondary Mixed School and became an independent school characterized by a school building with a safe educational infrastructure of classrooms, workshops, theaters, Science and library. It is characterized by an educational staff of teachers with experience, excellence, tenderness and a desire for professional development. The school starts from the fifth grade until the ninth grade and the two branches of the kindergarten. The area is characterized by extreme cold in the mild winter in summer. Tha excellence and distinctive school initiative.
