No, it is true that in the natural sciences such as the physical sciences and chemistry they achieved reliable, predictive knowledge, when it comes to sociology there are arguments about this, a few sociologists use the term positivist to describe their work while most sociologists today think it cannot be achieved.

Modern sociologists see Comte’s reject positivism because they think the idea of controlling and shaping society is dangerous and quite impossible especially in today’s world and that idea is one of the main principles of positivism.

Because the behaviours and actions of human beings in a society cannot be studied the same way as studying another animals. And their is another question in the books that who would would decide what is the positive direction and would it be suitable with democracy. And today many sociologists disagree with Comte’s version of sociology in which he believed was predictive science.

No, I believe that predictive knowledge cannot be achieved in relation to human societies and human behaviours. This is because the flaw within humans is that we have a need to please our counterparts/audience and therefore, in the article, it is stated that people being studied may alter their usual behsviour and opinions so as to please the researcher. In this case, it is possible for predictive knowledge to be achieved but because of the implications with the way research participants behave, there will be complications in the studies conclusion. Also, with the current technology, I believe it is impossible to get a sample size large enough to accurately and unbiased in proving that predictive knowledge is being achieved.

Auguste Comte ideas might be true for natural science and engineering however most sociologist today has said that predictive knowledge can't achieve in society and human behavior as it seems like controlling people and societies.Even if we try to research, human know that they are being watched by researchers therefore they might change the way they act
