Growing up I loved being outside. All those trips outside lead me into getting a good amount of bruises and falling. When I was younger I loved being with my cousins because that's when I would care less. We would both sneak out of the house and go to a field next to where we lived. To get there we had to fit ourselves into the side of the gate. On the other side of the gate, there were rocks, sticks, and trees. We would run around and climb trees, that's was where most of our injuries happened. Eventually, those injuries lead us into getting in trouble but even still that didn't stop us from getting out of the house.

As I got older those trips outside started to come to an end. After we moved we didn't have a place to run around and enjoy outside. We only had our backyard but it was too small. Now to enjoy nature, I go with my aunt on hikes. I love it because I get to spend time outside and with her.

Summary: In this chapter, We got to see how Christopher Johnson McCandless made the trip. A man who is determined (pg.6) and willing to put his life on the line just to live freely. Along his journey, he met Gallien. Gallien was willing to help him and get him to Stampede Trail. As Gallien got to know him, he noticed he didn't have enough food (pg.4) and gear (pg.4) to be taking that kind of trip (pg.4). He offered him supplies but Christopher denied all of them.
Gallien thought Christopher was just another regular hitchhicker (pg.3). But soon to figure out he was on an extraordinary journey.

Summary:
In this chapter, we get to see how Chris's family reacts to his death. It also gives us an insight into his relationship with his sister, Carine. In the beginning, it shows how close (pg.129) Chris and Carin were in high school. They both had alike personalities but their differences between them were greater than similarities. Others would say they were just like twins. So after his death, it was pretty difficult on Carine. As soon she heard her brother was dead (pg.130), she let out screams.

Another close relationship he had was with his sheepdog (pg.128), Buck. He was attached (pg.128) to Buck since he was a little boy. He was so attached that he wanted to take him along with him on the journey.
