Everyone gets angry, it’s part of being a human. In fact, anger can even be a good, healthy emotion that helps you make positive changes.

All emotions have a job–they are messengers of information. In the case of anger, many times the message is that something or someone is putting something you care about in danger. For example, if your friend cares about her grades; she feels leaving her homework assignment at home is putting her good grades in danger.

Now, while feeling the emotion of anger is something you may not be able to control, you can control how you react when you feel angry. 

Together we will read aloud a book and also watch a short video each week. You can also find these books if you search the title on Epic books for kids where they are read aloud and shown to students. Students can also talk about times they used or did not use the strategies we learned this week on how to react when they feel angry.
