This video recapped and reaffirmed the work that we have been doing as a district. We have had the opportunity to look at and reflect on ourselves and our implicit biases. We have been focusing on positive self-talk with our students - encouraging them to see their own strengths. We have also been modeling for them and guiding them in ways to find the strengths in others.

It is important to think about the Four Layer Model. IB is a model that will help students with criticality. We need to provide experiences that help are kids understand the concept of power, racism, etc. at a basic level for our youngest kiddos.

I think a lot of what is discussed in the video connects to strategies that are discussed in Tiffany Jewel's, "This Book is Anti-Racist." I highly recommend it both as an educator and in adapting activities for use with young children.
