At the start of my schooling, I was a bit of a know-it-all. I loved learning and wanted to learn more. I felt I knew a lot already compared to others.

1st Grade

As I grew and advanced, my eagerness to learn grew with me. I was very social and had developed an interest in pictures. I always wanted to be taking pictures and documenting everything, no matter what it was.

3rd Grade

This grade, I began to develop my confidence a lot more. I wanted to be the star and have the spotlight on me. This was the age I decided I wanted to play baseball, and my parents signed me, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. It helped me become the person I am today.

2nd Grade

Around this time, I began to be more adult-oriented and develop an adult personality. I dominated many of my friendships and had a different way of thinking than most. I had a strong character and personality, and it showed not only academically but also socially.

4th Grade

During this year, I found a teacher that I adored and made me intrigued to learn. Her name was Mrs. Muhar, and she opened my eyes to the beauty of learning. I always wanted to be in school and learn anything I could. She helped me develop my passion for loving school.

5th Grade

During this time in my schooling, I had a teacher who was not the best. She wasn't a good teacher and made it clear she disliked her job. I felt I did mainly paper work instead of actual learning and she didn't get along with me because I voiced my opinion and she didn't like how easily I would. I value my education deeply.

6th Grade

During that time, I had a teacher who tried to compare me to my cousin from the year before, and she didn't like her at all, which affected her attitude towards me. When I first entered 6th grade, I proved this teacher wrong, showing that I was different and wanted to learn. Based on my scores and grades, she realized I was different, and her attitude toward me changed immensely.

7th Grade

During this time I began to learn of my passion for English. My 7th grade teacher Mr. Gyll, he made me realize how fun writing and reading can be. He taught with such passion where it pulled me in instantly. He supoprted me and my writing style and helped me adjust and adapt where I needed to. He was the start of my journey for wanting to become an English teacher.

8th Grade

As I started my 8th grade year, I was nervous for the English teacher I had and it changed my life for the better. Mr. Guzman opened my whole world to English and what it can be. He taught me what it's like to read a book, genuinely read it and I wanted more. I loved learning and I loved how much passion he had when he taught. He was the one who officialy made me want to teach at a middle school as an English teacher. He gave me the confidence I needed to see what I was capable of.

9th Grade

The start of my high school year, I was on top of my academics but I became closed off and was angry with the world. I'm unsure why it happened but I had a lot of tension with my family and even when I was hard to communicate with they still gave me love and support. My family was by my side during this rough patch and has always shown me they love me. With my family I felt anything was possible and I slowly began to open up again and let them love me. They helped me become the person I am today and build my resilience.

10th Grade

During this time of my high school journey, I met my biology teacher Mr. Moore. He became one of my favorite teachers mainly due to his personality. He had a strong personality of "I don't care if you don't like me" and that stuck with me. He became a teacher I could vent to or reach out to when I needed help. He helped me grow as a person and learn that I had a voice. He made me want to do that for others, show them they had a voice.

11th Grade

I was playing softball for my high school and during this time, I became a leader and helped my team grow. There was an instance where two other players were being bullied on the team and I stepped in to stop it. I showed them they didn't have to have that fear on them and I made sure everyone knew we were supposed to be a team. It's important to stand up for others who can't for themselves. My parents taught me this and to be a voice for people who feel they don't have one. This helped me grow as a person to have people feel secure, valued and safe around me.

12th Grade

My senior year was a time where my mom let me expand my wings more and make more decisions for myself. I began to be more independent as I knew I had college coming up soon. She was helping me prepare for the real-world. When it came time to picking my college, I was stuck between wanting to leave home or stay and she talked me through it and told me this is my first adult decision. She gave me the confidence and comfort I needed to make my choice. She helped me grow as a person to see that her support was by my side always.

My Crayon Tree

When I was young, around 5, I loved coloring. I loved to color everything I could get my hands on. However, I had a habit of breaking my crayons often and my parents would buy me new packs. One day after breaking another pack my parents said they aren't buying me anymore. I had the bright idea to grow my own crayons and I told them I would so I can have all the crayons I want. I buried my crayons in the front of our house and every day I went out and watered them for 3 days. Finally on the third day, a box of brand new crayons was popping out of the dirt. I was so happy with myself that I did it but in reality, my parents played a part. Doing this, they made me believe anything was possible and I was capable of anything. I'm very fond of this memory because they showed me that I can do anything if I put my heart and mind into it.

Baseball in My Life

Baseball has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whenever I’m out on the field, it feels like I can breathe and forget about everything else for a while. It’s like I get lost in a better world where all that matters is the game. Baseball has taught me a lot how to work hard, be part of a team, and stay focused even when things get tough. It’s even helped me with school by showing me that if I keep practicing and stay patient, I can get better at anything. Baseball isn’t just a sport to me it’s my escape and a big part of who I am.
