Jay was trying to throw Adnan under the bus and make people think that he Adnan it, and say that he was innocent and didn't want anything to do with it. Adnan was convicted in February 2000 and was sentenced to life in prison. The police don't look at Adnan's side of the story and only look at the side against Adnan. Adnan stole money from the mosque, but that's a typical teenage thing. Even the people at the mosque said that it's a teenage thing to do. He even kissed his male friend on the cheek to apologize to him. People from his school said that he was the type of person to make sure the non-athletic kids always got picked for teams in games. He was working at Lens Crafters at the time that Haye was murdered so they just kinda forgot about him. His mom and a manager said that he was at work, and parents tend to love their children, so I suppose her mom could bribe the other manager to say that he was at work, while Don killed Hae.
