For example they got motivated by Marco Polo because he was one of the first explorers. Since then the sailors felt inspired to travel around the world and see if what Marco Polo said was true about his journey. Another reason they got motivated to explore was because Queen Elizabeth and King Ferdanand said that if they come back safley and with evidence of what they found, they were going to get something special . Ultimately they got motivated by being curiousity. For example the Wright Brothers. The Wright Brothers traveled around the world because they were curious to know what was really out there. They also, did it for fun. For example, an explorer that got motivated this way was Christopher Columbus. Christopher Columbus was motivated this way because he saw the riches ,land and spices that Marco Polo described in his journal.                                                        Another reason that explorers got motivated to exploring unknown territory was to find expand to new land to rule. For example, John Cabot set sail to explore new land for England. King Henry 7 saw the land that Spain had found, therefore he sent Cabot to find new land for the English to rule.                                               Lastly another reason that made explorers set out to find unknown territory was curiosity. An explorer that set out because of curiosity was Amerigo Vespucci. Amerigo Vespucci was curious because he wondered if Columbus really did land in Asia. So Amerigo went south of were Columbus landed and tried looking for signs of the spices and silk that Marco Polo discribed, but found none. Which ment that Columbus did not land in Asia. Lastly goals was one of them because Magellan wanted to travel around the world and Amerigo Vespucci wanted to prove that he was in Asia to Columbus.
