A black hole is not just a endless pit of darkness that destroys everything near it. It's actually a very hard concept to wrap your head around but thanks to Dr. Geza Gyuk we know have a better understanding.

So what are they?

We're no experts but Dr. Gyuk broke down the basics of a black hole. For starters in black holes time and space switch roles which allows you to go anywhere in time! That would be awesome if you could actually survive in one. Another thing to know is that they don't suck in everything around them into them. You have to be already in the path of a black hole to be pulled into one, and once you're in you can't come out.

We learned a lot of things today talking to our expert on black holes Dr. Geza Gyuk. Listening to him black holes are very hard to understand and explain without leaving confusion. The most interesting things that I have learned about black holes is that to create a black hole you have to take something as big as the hole Earth and make it as small as the tip of your thumb for it to be a black hole!
