A battle was not actually fought there. It was long and bloody because the soldiers had little food to keep them going. Everyone was getting sick inside of Valley Forge because of no access to adequate medical supplies. The soldiers fighting at Valley Forge did not have proper winter coats or shoes. Valley forge is located in Pennsylvania, about 25 miles outside of Philadelphia. It is now used as a national historical park. It was fought in 1775-1783. The British started with a series of acts (stamp act, Sugar act, Townshend act) that would try and get more money out of the colonies. This angered the colonists and gave them the push to start fighting for their independence. Paul Revere had to let people know that the British were coming but heard had to be discreet about it. He really didn't shout "the British are coming, the British are coming". William Dawes also let the people know they were coming. The British got to Lexington and shots fired out, to this day we still don't know who fired the first shot. After that they went to concord to look for weapons to destroy, they didn't know that the majority had already been relocated. they still burned the small amount they found. The British shot first at some militia men that fond them on a bridge and then they traveled to Boston.
