Look Up! Bird-Watching in Your Own Backyard written by Annette LeBlanc Cate has some pages written in a graphic novel style and discusses birds from all over the world keeping children engaged and wanting to learn more. As an interdisciplinary book, I would use this as a shared reading when working as a whole class. I would also have the students compare and contrast the birds.
