Three pros of communication in the medical field would be better patience, you’re better at talking to people, and you get good with handeling stressful situations. First, you get much better patience. When you constantly have to work with people who are alway mad and stressed out you lean how to be more and more patient with all types of people. Next, you get better st talking to people. When you have to talk to people who are all different you learn to talk to all types of people. So people may be shy, some outgoing and loud. You see so many people that over time you can talk to anyone. Finally, you get really good at handeling stressful situations. You have people coming in screaming and freaking out a lot of the time so you get to see situation like that a lot. Working with people and communicating like you have to in the medical field can give you a lot of skills but there are also some cons to it.
It’s really nice to get the chance to work first hands with patience, but there is always a down side to working with sick people. People are usually in a bad mood, people are mean, and people get nervous. First, people are normally in a bad mood when they’re at the doctors because 9/10 times they’re not feeling good. When people are mean they are not in a good mood and they may be snappy. Also, people are just mean. People will treat you badly when all you want to do it help. They may insult the way you look, or the way you speak. You have to be okay with it and just be the bigger person but it is not alway easy. Finally, people who are sick might be nervous which could make finding out what is wrong with them a lot harder than it has to be. You jut always have to make sure that you are making your patient feel comfortable and safe so that as a medical provider you can take care of them the best way you know how.
-brandi

There are many pros to medical office but one is that you get to build relationships with patients more easily because you get to talk to them. Another pro is that talking to people may become easier because of how often you have to do it. A third pro is that you can build your vocabulary because of how often you interact with others. And also how often you have to explain things to patients and find easy ways to help them understand can help you build your vocabulary. A con in medical office is that because you are the first person patients see they may get upset at you more easily if there is a problem going on. Another con is that so many people rely on the fact of you being organized that it may be stressful t be able to keep up and keep everything in order all the time. Lastly a con is that you are expected to do all this work and sometimes it may be difficult to just keep up with the work because of how much may be piled on to a person. - Michelle

Like having to interact with sick patients all the time would be stressful. I never really thought about it like that and when Brandi brought that up it was really a good contribution. - Michelle

three pros of communication in the medical office are understanding the patient better, the patient understanding you better, and having less complications with your coworkers. when you communicate with patients, you understand them better. taking time to listen to what the patient has to say will make them happy. a happy patient will make your life easier. people like to be heard, and communicating with them will help that. communication can also help the patient understand you better. most people who go into doctors offices are impatient and want to be seen immediately. communicating with them in a calm way could help them to understand that they need to be patient or that people aren't perfect and things take time to do in a medical office. communication also helps with coworkers. if there is an out-of-hand patient or you need to ask for help, communication is the way to get the results you want. but there are also cons to communication. sometimes patients aren't good at communicating if they don't speak very good English or if they are in a panic and cant make full sentences. another con is that sometimes patients don't understand that office workers cannot control the doctors schedules and they can get irritated easily. lastly, sometimes you may be afraid to talk to coworkers or to ask for help from somebody. people can be shy or have anxiety when it comes to talking or asking for help. - danielle 2-1-18

Three pros of communication is you will have better patience and learn how to deal with people, have good communication so that your patient is in a happy mood, and being able to talk to different types of people. When patients arrive in an office, sometimes they can be difficult since most of them are sick so you are working on being more patient with people. Communication is important because when patients come into the office, you are going to be the first one to see. You need to make a good impression on the patient so that they are not in a bad mood. Lastly a pro for communication is you will be able to know how to talk to everyone. Every patient who walks into the office will have a different personality and mood, so you will understand on how to talk with all kinds of people. A con for communication in the office is you will always have to be in a happy mood with your patients. There will always be patients that are annoying and you just want to yell at them, but you have to keep it to yourself and be contained because you need to keep your patient in a good mood. Also a con is trying to understand different people. Most people will not want to talk because they are sick or some just have that shy type of personality. You will have to try and understand all patients. Lastly a con is that sometimes you are not the best at communication. You will have to learn on how to speak to your patients that they will understand you fully.
-Megan D 2/1/18

When it comes to Communication in the Medical Office, there are many pros and cons. Some pros can be building up your personality, patience, and understanding. When meeting with patients, you tend to slowly become more nicer and create that "patient communication." In the Medical Office, there's going to be challenges as to where patients are not as friendly, and with the Medical Office, this is where you build up your patience. And by meeting with patients, you start to understand yourself and what to say and what not to say.
With that, there are also cons. You can do the complete opposite of the pros list and it could really be difficult. As mentioned, you can build up your personality and train yourself to become a better person when communicating with others. But there may be a point where a patient may be very disrespectful and if you are really short tempered, it can end badly for you. Not only can acting cold back towards a patient be disrespectful, the first people the patients see is the person in the Medical Office. It is also best to be careful how you communicate with the patients because some people don't think before they say something and patients might go out of hand and may threaten you.
-Brittney

This field is a very complex field. You do not only have to do one job, which is the medical part but you also have to develop a relationship with your client\ patient. Communication is the key to do that. With communication you develop your personal skills for yourself but also it can help you avoid any complications if you did any mistakes. Humans make mistakes ans so because we are, by communicating with the patient and building a relationship, you got an assurance that you and only you can get. Second, Communication makes your humanity grows and makes you stop thinking about yourself. Nora B

pros and cons . When it comes to communication in the medical office You have to be nice to all your patient. You have to shake your patient hand. You have to develop a relationship with patient . Sometimes there going to be patients that wants someone that speaks there language. Sometimes you just have to deal with it. Communication is really important when it comes of meeting a new patient. They will be patient's that they are nervous or embarrassed to tell whats wrong with them. A good communication when working in the office or working as a nurse or doctor is keeping a smile and always be happy. Taking the time to listen what the patient is saying will make the patient joyful. It's really important to have communication with coworkers. If you are having a problem with a patient or don't know how to do something or cant find something a coworker can help you with that problem. The last thing is always make the patient feel safe and comfortable and a big smile on their face's when their done with their appointment. B.X
