The change is constant, and all matters in the universe remain in dynamic and continuous development. The nature of reality lies in the fact that everything around is always altering, which also proves its steady character. Both Heraclitus and Parmenides raised the question of unchallengeable essence of existence, the latter underlining the everlasting movement as complete, at the same time. The Greek philosophers offer one complex, yet critical ideas that should occupy one’s mind.

A person, though living in the complete world, does not remain the same during his or her lifetime. From Heraclitus’ statement “You can never step into the same river twice” it follows that everything in the universe remains constantly dynamic. While something is in motion, it always undergoes new experiences, which, in turn, can be regarded as the constant change of development. Similar to Heraclitus, Parmenides also ponders on the nature of existence. Both philosophers highlight the continuous movement in the world. However, Parmenides indicates that this change in existence is at the same time static as it comes from nothing, which cannot be altered or ceased. The Greek thinker claims that regardless what happens around, it cannot interfere with its continuity. Despite their differences, the two quotations are of great interest and value since they refer to the primordial questions of existence, its nature, development, and influences it may be subjected to or cause itself. In addition, Heraclitus’ and Parmenides' views on the immutability and constant flux of the world make one consider this idea seriously and carefully.

Living in constantly moving and changeable environment, it is difficult for one to realize that everything has its enduring flux. However, the dynamics of existence can be regarded as its unchanging and complete nature. The two Greek philosophers Heraclitus and Parmenides refer to the question of existence and its character and both emphasize the continuity of the world, although Parmenides considers the latter as an absolute constant.
