Jeanette: "I wish we could live like this forever." Lori: "I think we might have to."

When Jeanette is really young and the Walls do the skedaddle in the middle of the night to leave Arizona, The family pulls over to the side of the highway and all sleep under the stars. Jeanette then says the quote above and Lori replies. The picture below goes with the quote and theme because the kids are happy and having fun in a place that is not meant for kids. Just like Jeanette who is happy and having fun with the life she is living at the moment.

Rex: "We're gonna build a house from scratch. We'll call it, The Glass Castle."

Throughout the entirety of the story, Rex is a manipulator. I think that the quote above relates to the quote below because it is a perfect example to describe Rex and all the promises that he broke to his family. He tells you all the good things that will and can come but in the end, he never made one of those promises come true.

Jeanette: "While working for my school newspaper, I felt at home, like I belong somewhere."

When Jeanette first started writing for her high school news paper, she knew that that's what she wanted do. The picture below is the first actual news paper company that Jeanette worked for. She then went on to work for MSNBC. Till this day she still loves to write and report on new topics.

Jeanette: "My relationship with Eric was boring and predictable, but that's what I needed."

Jeanette wanted to live a life totally opposite of her mother and father, and that is what she got when she met Eric. Life was normal and calm which is what she wanted the most. I believe that the picture below shows how life was while living with her family(right) and living away from them with Eric(left). The left side is predictable and easy while the right side in unpredictable.

Jeanette: "Mom and dad let us kids run and play wild everyday with no supervision, the only exception was to be home when the street lights came on."

The way that Rex and Rose Mary raised their children is called free-range parenting. However they took it to the max. They would let their kids practically live and provide for themselves. Over the course of the story you do see Brian, Jeanette, and Lori all provide for the family more than Rex and Mary do. The Picture below goes along with the theme and quote because the kids are running freely with no adult supervision just like the kids do in the story.

Jeanette: "In the courthouse halls, my family broke out into a huge argument about the cause of Maureen's mental health breakdown."

During this scene in the story, I think Jeanette comes to accept how her family is when they are all together but even before this they had to deal with all of mom and dad's crazy antics and arguments. But they saw it as normal and just ignored it and went on with their lives. I think that the picture above can relate to the quote and theme because the kids seem untouched by their parents argueing, like it happens all the time.
